So I’m diggin’ thru the mixtape collection and I come across the Ron G mixes series. Mixes 10 & 12 gotta be the best outta them all…to me at least. I cop’d mixes 10 when I graduated high school so it was that summers theme music so its ingrained in my soul. I can’t say I gave Mixes 7 too much burn but I have the last couple weeks and it’s a winner.

Mixes 7 def keeps the R&B with the hard-ass-break-beat-over-the-song theme going and lets be real…that’s what Ron G is known for. He owns that style and its that same style Puffy jacked and made millions off of. The skills where sharp on this one tho. Damn I miss DJs just making simple cuts and bring backs on mixtapes. Whens the last time you heard a DJ transform on a mixtape?

This mix is for the hardcore fan who’s of age. And by “of age” I mean old enough to know the songs being played. Favorites on here for me gotta be the “Stay With Me” mix (wonders if this is where Puff got the idea for Biggie using this beat) and After 7s Heat of the Moment mix is that 100MPH third lane on the highway music. Audio quality gets a lil sketchy near the end of the mix but fuck it that’s how shit was on mixtapes.
