I think I’ve done close to 1000 mixtape reviews in my time on Rapmullet and to be honest I don’t want to do “reviews” anymore.
What I do want to do is provide MCs, artist, DJs with some raw uncut honest feedback which is really the important stuff from any review with out all the other lovely stuff.
Rapmullet has a history of being one of the first websites to support and feature unknown and up and coming artist. The MCs that have been featured on our site in the early days are some of the most prominent break-thru MCs in the game right now. We certainly don’t take credit for their success but we do take pride in being some of the first people to recognize their talent, bring it to the attention of some influential people as well as offer pertinent advice which most seem to of adhered to in their come up.
With that said, lets keep it real. Rapmullet has no where near the traffic of our hey day (best Alexa rating we had was in the high 60,000 around 2007-2008) so it’s not really about exposure to a vast audience at this point. So us posting your latest track or video for consumption is a moot point.
What it is and can be about is feedback. Invaluable honest critiques and advice that you won’t get from you’re inner circle of yes men. (And best believe you have yes men in your inner circle). By posting said feedback not only can you learn something anyone who reads Rapmullet can learn something too and you learn from others as well.
So if you’re interested in getting some feedback on a project you just did, you have project coming up and want some advice, you have a question or you want to collaborate on something contact me on twitter (@big_chew) and we’ll go from there. Its the Rapmullet feedback circle of life and at the end of the day everyone is better because of it.
